The Tai Po Boat Club was originally formed as
a social and recreational club in February 1963 and at present is legally
incorporated under the name of "The Tai Po Boat Club Limited"
as a non-profit organization with the Companies Registry (Hong Kong). The premises of the Club were originally at Tai Po Kau. However, with the resumption of coastal land for the construction of the Tolo Highway, the premises were temporarily shifted to Tai Mei Tuk in 1982, pending offer of relocation to a more permanent site by Government. The Club has been “temporarily” occupying an area of about 2,000 m2 adjacent to the Tai Mei Tuk Watersports Centre since 1982. As a non-profit organization which is managed by the General Committee and it is elected by full members. There are commodores of the the Club.
